Becki Newton
Becki Newton, born from New Haven in Connecticut, was brought up at Guilford within Connecticut. Becki Newton is of English as well as Czech descent. She began putting on shows and musicals at local theaters. She later went on to study at the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned her B.A. In European History. Newton became a member of as a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority at Penn. Newton was a graduate of Penn University in the year 2006, made the move to New York City where she got TV roles for corporations like Olive Garden. Newton played Amanda Tanen from 2006-2010 in the comedy drama Ugly Betty. With co-star Michael Urie, Newton co-hosted the Official Ugly Betty Podcast. Newton also starred in ABC.com ?Ts Mode After Hours series of web-based episodes. Ugly Betty, which had several successful seasons at the time but was canceled in 2010. This allowed the series to be given a proper conclusion. Newton made her New York City Center encores debut in the year 2009. Jerry Zaks directed the Gershwin musical Girl Crazy. Her husband Chris Diamantopoulos performed with her as Molly Gray. Newton was also a part of Love Bites, a television series. Cindy Chupack was the executive producer for the romance comedy. Cindy Chupack worked with Sex and the City. NBC began the series at the end of May in 2010 However, because of the announcement of Newton's pregnancy, Jordana Spiro's contractual commitment to be on the show with My Boys, which was cancelled later, and Chupack having a desire to quit Love Bites, the premiere was pushed to midseason.
